I have several friends that are making their own dog treats. The best part is that they make different types to accommodate allergies.

I'm not sure what the intent of the spay/neuter law is. But...if we put all the emotionality aside when discussing this law I have a few comments on the possible fall-out.
1. Government mandates for all guardians that have Pit bull or Pit bull type dogs.
2. Let this law in and it's not unrealistic that more breeds will be added to the list.
3. This type of law could eventually affect BYB that pair up two good tempered dogs and have inexpensive mixed puppies to offer families.
4. Someday only purebred breeders may be only able to breed their dogs.
5. Gov. may someday control others ability to breed their dogs through taxes or high licenses fees.
When ever you think you have a good law with good intentions you have to think of the most ridiculous fallouts possible, because sometimes laws just get ridiculous and have unintended effects in the future.

Not to sound "cliche" and expect that people with more money than me need to solve all our problems by using their money, but the more that "stars" get involved with shelters and rescues the better. Our shelter is run completely by "me and you" donations and thankfully a few steady contributors that are able to share alot more than the majority of donators. Without our big contributors we could never do the job.
Thanks to all the "me and you" donators and the "stars".

For me abuse starts when someone is inflicting pain, discomfort or fear onto another being.

This is too devastating. Save those you can and humanely help the ones you can't to pass on.
