Louie, my blind dog

As I write this, Louie, who is blind, is outside chasing what he thinks may be some wild animal at the bird feeder. Louie has been with me nearly 3 years now, he was recued from a terrible situation in Dec 2004. Louie was part of a group of nearly 70 animals kept in deplorable conditions, chained outside with a hubcap for a water bowl, waiting for a rainstorm to fill the dirty "bowl" with what became a green sludge passing for water.
