Dog adoptions are normally $40.00, cat adoptions are normally $25.00. This includes spay/neuter, basic vaccinations including rabies, heart worm testing for dogs over 6 months, Lukemia testing for all cats and 2 free obedience classes for all dogs.
Specials are run periodically. For the month of December cat adoptions are $10.00. Dog adoptions from December 10 until Dec 31 are $20.00.
Adoption rates for dogs that are to be euthanized are $20.00 and often the volunteers will sponsor these dogs and pay half of that fee.
There is no fee for special needs animals going to legitimate rescue groups.
The average cost of an animal's stay at the Shelter is in excess of $350.00 plus the spay/neuter and rabies vaccination. The main reason for the adoption fee is to ensure the person adopting the animal has the means to properly care for the animal.
