I too am a newer volunteer. It is frustrating to see so many areas of the shelter that needs help. We need more volunteers to walk the dogs and to socialize the cats.

I know this volunteer and the Washington Area HUmae Society needs more volunteers like her. She is a blessing to the shelter. She is a dedicated volunteer that not only walks dogs but tries to help the shelter in other ways.

Its nice to hear good things about the WAHS. Everyone there tries so very hard.

I agree with everything you have said. what the WAHS needs is to win this contest so that the shelter can bulldoze those awful buildings and build a new effecient building.

I am sorry that you feel such bitterness towards the Washington Area Humane Society. Why is reviewing a banana a bad thing. My dogs love bananas. I think eating a banana is good for the dogs. And reviewing it on zootoo may give someone an idea to try it for themselves. MY lab loves oranges and grapefruit too. Our shelter is a very poor shelter. We are in the middle of farm country. OUr shelter is 101 years old and is literally falling down. It has many building repair problems that we keep putting band-aids on because we cannot afford to properly fix the repair problems. Our shelter's number one focus is the welfare of the animals that we take in. We love and care for them the very best we can. Isn't that what we are charged to do? Read Less
