There is a black one that runs around our neighborhood all the time. I'll have to tell my husband to keep an eye out to see if there are any white babies running about! Thanks for the interesting information!

Someone pointed out that the stray may be carrying fleas, etc, so I'll share my experience with strays. Two of my four babies came to me as strays. The last one wasn't supposed to stay, but somehow she never made it to the shelter. :) When we brought her in after my son caught her, I was very concerned about what she might be exposing my 17 year old cat to. So, when I brought her in to the house, I put her into my medium sized cat carrier (the mostly enclosed tan plastic kind with the bars on the front) with food, water, etc. I kept her in the bathroom away from the other cats until I had a chance to get her to the vet. That way she had her own quiet space, probably felt safer because she was in an enclosed space, and my other cats were protected from anything she might be carrying. I did allow my cats to get a look-see at her from a few feet, but keeping them from hissing and possible scratching ensured that they wouldn't transfer anything nasty.
I am so excited for you--good luck and catching your new friend! Read Less
