But I didn't care about a real life meeting; I just knew she really needed a home. And they said, "Well, it's Thumper's time." ;-) She took a lot of work to go from constantly hiding behind the toilet to jumping up on the bed to be petted! It was well worth it. She is a sweetie. The Dumb Friends League is a nonprofit. When is it all right to handsomely compensate employees of a NONprofit? Why should a greater percentage of donations go to administration and benefits, and far less go to where the donors (LIKE ME) thought their money was going? As a donor who contributed $60 last year, I want it spent on things like a better environment for the animals, a longer dog run, pet food, etc. Microsoft needs a fancy lobby, not an animal shelter whose only concern should be squeezing every penny donated into benefitting the reason the nonprofit exists. cbennet's comment was very enlightening and my money will be better spent elsewhere this year. Both of our dogs and two of our cats are microchipped. It's worth the money.

The UPS guy always make sure to leave a couple on top of delivered boxes left on our porch for our German Shepherds. They love 'em and him!

I noticed that a harness works a lot better on my German Shepherd puppy.

We live in a rural area and were given a Tri-Tronic training collar by a friend who shows championship spaniels. It was a godsend. It is the only thing that kept our young German Shepherd from racing into the road to chase elusive bunnies. There are different settings. With an intelligent dog, the mildest setting is used 99.9% of the time, and it is a relief to have it for those times when the dog is about to run across the road in hot pursuit.
