This article is very saddening. Many animals will be so confused and scared - something that stirs up great emotion with me. I must say, however, that I am glad those who feel the need to surrender their animals are turning them over to shelters. I've heard stories of dogs/cats just being left in/at abandoned homes, that were facing foreclosure. Obviously, it's much better for these innocent animals to be taken to a shelter, as opposed to being left out in the cold, without food and sometimes shelter. What a blessing and holiday miracle for ALL the pups involved in this story. As the article mentions though, there are so many that await new homes every day. May they all find warm, loving homes; God knows they deserve it!

No matter how small the donation appears to be, it's a BIG blessing for any animal waiting patiently in a shelter to be adopted into a new home. I think it's great that Boy Scout troops, etc., gather products to help local shelters! Good job guys!

I'd much rather have my vet administer any vaccines....but since my dogs are my kids, I would do anything for them...including giving them vaccines. A mom always does what a mom has to do! And if I couldn't do it, dad would step in!
