They only euthanize if an animal is unadoptable due to aggression or illness. This shelter is so successful at being an open door facility because of the great lengths it goes to to get its animals adopted, thus making room for new ones. There is always an off-site adoption event or high-exposure fundraiser going on somewhere, getting the animals out of the shelter abd giving them the wide public exposure required to increase their chances at adoption. It is a lot of work, to be sure, but it works! There's a dog in foster care right now that has been at the shelter since April, and a couple of 10 year-olds who have not only been at the shelter for 2 months or more, but treated for various health issues in order to make them adoptable. This shelter is not quick to euthanize and that is such a wonderful rarity that saves countless lives. Thanks for the cool question! Read Less

I did receive a $150+ bottle of supplements, 2 $45 bottles of something else and was never consulted or warned about the cost of those before I went up to pay and they were sitting there for me. When you are going to try to sell someone $200 in supplements, you don't blindside them with it, you discuss it with them first - that is just common courtesy. I didn't even mention that because I didn't want to nit pick.

I am glad that you like him so well, and I hope he is able to help your pets, but I don't feel he is as beneficial or as knowledgeable as 'advertised' and the reasons reach way beyond his inability to cure a dog with terminal illness. I did recognize him squeezing us in for an appointment and for that I was grateful (as I said) but beyond that I was not impressed and soon found that I am far from alone in my opinion after I began talking to other patients in my area. I'm sure some people find him helpful, and any benefit to the animals is a good thing, I just hope you are not being blindly loyal and do research on your own. Read Less
