In the United States, dachshunds come in two recognized sizes: standard (between 16 and 32 pounds as adults) and miniature (11 pounds and under as adults); dachshunds whose weight falls between 11 and 16 pounds are affectionately known as “tweenies”. Dachshund lovers, on the other hand, come in all different sizes. Local dachshund clubs can be found in most major American cities, including New York, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
