Teeny Brown Kitten Goes From Shelter to Show Hall
Photo 4 of 5
Cocoa Pebbles (aka Beaner) was rescued by Little Orphan Angels in North Texas from a local shelter. The four-month-old chocolate brown kitten soon found a way into my home...and heart...when LOA called me and said they had a Havana Brown. I show HBs and thought "no way". So I went to their Petsmart adoption and there she was! She's definately a Havana Brown / Oriental Shorthair outcross (who knows what breeder either tossed the little girl aside or sold her to someone and then she got out!). I adopted her and took her home to be with my other two "brownies". Since then Cocoa Pebbles has been the on-the-road companion cat for my other show cats. And just this last show season which ended on April 30 2008, she finally earned her Regional Winners award. Cocoa Pebbles is my little girly girl, and best friend. Wherever I am, she's there. And she loves my dog Moe. She walks by his side, talking away, tail swishing like a gorgeous flag. Cocoa Pebbles is such a great example of the cats we need to rescue...and how people can enjoy showing household pets which promotes rescuing cats from shelters, groups and off the street.

She's stunning! How fortunate that the shelter recognized her breed and that you were there for her - what an amazing life she now has - and the ability to promote rescue - giving back twofold!
