If it helps, I am really sorry about Subway, and I did read that the copper in tap water (from the pipes) is bad for them, so I only give them water from water bottles.
Me. too. I still get choked up about him. I was so upset when I took him to have him put to sleep, they told me to go home and they would send a bill. I think I took his death the hardest out of any I ever had.
He certainly was a beauty. It's a shame that he couldn't be saved.
At least now,you have gained some more knowledge about the best care for the Piggies.
He was an unbelievable little guy, a satin teddy with a really sweet disposition. He would follow behind my feet when he was out of his cage. His one eye looked like he had eyeliner around it because it was black just around the edges. He developed bladder stones. My vet tried an alternate treatment which didn't work. Instead the stone grew rapidly and he lost so much weight, surgery wasn't an option. I sadly had to put him to sleep. His death radically changed how I care for my guinea pigs. I eliminated all tap water from their diets. They only get distilled water which does not contain minerals. They also get no pellets containing alfalfa and zero alfalfa. I also watch the calcium levels in the food they eat. He was one of a kind.

Thanks, Pink, bottled water is the best. I haven't had any problems since I switched.

The worst thing was that I think he knew where he was going. He was trying to get out of the box when I took him in.
