The males tend to be larger than the females. Nigel was a smaller male so he makes Subway look even bigger.

We used to have a pair that looked mismatched. Brenda was a very small female & her mate, Brownie was big! But not as big as your Subway! Do you know how much he weighed?

I looked back at my records and one of his weights showed 2 lbs. 8 oz. which is not a lot. He was small when I got him and I don't have the date of this weighing. Curly Fry is 2 lbs. 10 oz. now. I was at the Pet Expo this morning and the woman who runs our rescue said she had a male that was 5 lbs. He was the biggest she ever had.

He was...with a very large head. He could inflict a very nasty bite if he was agitated....Towards the end of his life when I had him at the vet, the vet was talking to me. Subway was watching him from the corner of his eye. Next thing, he turned his head really quickly and bit him. The vet didn't expect it...he let his guard down. He didn't break the skin but left teeth marks, so it was just a warning. I named him Subway because his markings made him look like he looked like he was tucked in a bun. He was a glossy teddy. Shiny teddy fur...very unusual.

well isn't that interesting....the little vetbiter. so, Subway was an incredibly sweet individual, who followed his mommy around the house, yet, when upon being poked and prodded he took umbrage. it's good to know that even little creatures can be discriminating. sounds like Subway was his own pig. and it also sounds like you were very lucky to have shared his life.
