I am sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking of the love that was meant to be found for the two of you. My dad was an Atlanta Policeman, and I know that animals unwavering love got him through some tough times that he couldn't share with family. I am so sorry that anyone ever hurt your dog, and I am gladdened by the fact that he now has a loving home where he will always be safe. Give Dakota a big hug from me. I rescue horses, and I know that feeling of a mixture of fear, sympathy, empathy, even hopelessness, and the need to break through the barriers, and bring a little love back to those liquid eyes. I am so happy that you found a husband and another good dog to love.

Thank you...Atlanta PD huh? Not that far from me! He's an angel boy. And now, with the addition of my newly adopted son, Dakota has a little boy to torture him and play with him too! LOL

What a lot of tragedy and hard knocks you have been through! It seems like fate stepped in and made sure you and Dakota found each other! You did save Dakota and Dakota saved you! I wish you both peace and happiness with each other!

WOW, thank you. He's a wonderful boy. He's not real fond of his sister all the time, and I just adopted a little boy and he's jealous of that too. But he is getting used to it, and likes to sleep with my son. But only when he's already asleep and doesn't know Dakota is there! LOL

What a great story, I'm so glad you found eachother. I saw a t-shirt that reads "who rescued whom?" and I thought of you and Dakota.

What a wonderful story of a wonderful pet and his wonderful owner! I have actually had the pleasure of meeting this dog, and he is such a sweet boy. It's no wonder you love him so much.

You are going to have to come up here for Halloween and dress him up as your pirate side-kick! He could have a peg leg and everything! Thank you Uncle Jeff!!! Give Eileen a kiss for me.

I am so happy to shared yours and Dakota's story with us. It is moving and inspirational. The two of you were intended to be together to help you both be strong. It saddens me to hear of such horror stories of abuse on such a beautiful creature. I am happy your found each other.
