World's Smallest Dog

Browse News

There's a dog in Kentucky named Boo Boo who has set her place in history for being the world's smallest pup.

According to the Guiness Book of Records, at just four inches tall and 18 ounces, the Long-haired Chihuahua from Raceland, Kentucky is about an inch smaller then the previous record holder.

Owner Lana Elswick says that when Boo Boo was born, she was the size of her thumb – and after six weeks weighed just 3 ounces.

The tiny dog had to be nursed with an eye dropper for the first few weeks before switching to a bottle.

Today she eats ground turkey and vegetables, and spends her days napping and playing.

How cute. I hope that he is healthy. I also hope that they aren't trying to breed the smallest dog on purpose. Runts happen, so I hope that is the case. Take care of the puppy and don't lose it!!! lol

Astonishing. Even my bunnies would dwarf this dog. It amazes me she survived.

Cute dog. I can't imagine such a tiny dog in our crazy household. We have 3 60 pound dogs in our house who occasionally terrorize our two cats. I can only imagine what they'd do with such a tiny brother or sister. But it would be nice to have a dog I could actually pick up, and I'd probably save a ton of money on food!!

she could be named BooBoo because she gets stepped on so much. She is so tiny my dogs would run over her all the time, I would have to carry her around to keep her safe.

Cute puppy but I hope this breeding was not intentional. This is how alot of breeds get ruined. And I hope they will not breed this adorable little dog.

Agree with others who wondered if she was the result of intentional breeding. If so, shame on the breeder.

What a strikingly adorable picture. I hope that Boo Boo does well and thrives. I certainly hope that breeders are not trying to deliberately create miniscule dogs. There won't be room for their organs.

Too small. I hope that wasn't intentional. I would be afraid I would loose her or step on her. How do you keep track of something that small?

Aww, Booboo is so adorable. I can't believe how tiny she is and barely weighs anything. I saw a cute pic of her next to the tallest/biggest dog and it was funny cuz she was barey the size of his head.
