I have never met a dog that old and I don't think I ever will. I think it would be kind of scary to have a dog that old because you would never know if suddenly it would just stop breathing.

Happy birthday Chanel! I am still getting over the fact that she was running 3-4 miles a day - I don't even think I could get my super hyper lab to do that :)

This is an awesome story about a super little dog! My dogs have lived to 15 and 13, current one is 13. My horses have been 21, 23 and this one is 29..... I love a good long romp with my favorite pet!! Chanel may not romp much, but I bet she does in her heart! Makes me feel good to think 13 really isn't very old! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Absolutely amazing. Those little dogs live lots longer than the bigger dogs. My Golden was 15 and my Belgian was just 2 months shy of 15.

It surprises me that the oldest living dog is only 21. I would have thought there would be some older ones.

hope she lives a few more years! looks as if she has really good owners. surprised she eats table foods and is that healthy. but counds like they are giving her healthy table food. i know my puppy loves chicken when i make it specially for her. i wonder what kind of food brand the dog eats. still beautiful and that old! my blessings for the dog.

It is good to hear that her organs are sound and she is still healthy at such an advanced age for a dog.

I can only hope that Mysty and Hunter live to be at least half that age. We lost our Bear at age 10 to Pancreatic Cancer which was way to soon. Best wishes to you Chanel and may your time left on this earth be happy and pain free.

I believe Bluey was a blue heeler cattle dog, not a sheepdog. Also, there was a female blue heeler that was still living a couple of years ago that was, I think, 27. Longevity is wonderful, but should be balanced with quality of life. So long as Chanel is happy with her life as it is, more years to her!

My Wiggles Blue Heeler will be eleven in July!
