Woman Trapped in Car For 2 Days, Saved By Dogs
OKLAHOMA – An Oklahoma City woman who was trapped in her overturned car for two days says it was her four dogs that kept her alive.
78 year-old Betty McCord was driving to see family three weeks ago when for unknown reasons her car crashed. It flipped over and skidding deep into the woods.
For almost two days, Ms. McCord huddled in the car – her teeth broken after colliding with the steering wheel. She says her Shih Tzus – Tinkerbell, Mack, Ally and Misty – kept her alive.
They licked her face, keeping her awake until Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tyson Wright saw tire tracks leading to McCord's car.
He smashed in a window to find the elderly woman and her pets – all in need of food and water – and some fresh air.
Neither Ms. McCord or her dogs sustained serious injury.
Three weeks later, Betty and her dogs are doing fine. They're staying with family for the time being, while the soreness wears off.
Betty says she still can't believe how the dogs acted.
