Or this there already something going on between the to owners? People are so strange. I can't imagine shooting a dog just running in my yard? I fi was going to eat me or had rabies....maybe....probably not I GUESS i'M JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THIS LADY WAS SHOOTING ANYTHING??

This woman seems nuts. Why shoot at anything or anybody unless they are ready to harm you? Why bring a gun out in the first place?

How was she so prepared to shoot a dog running in her yard & why would she shoot at the dog when the dog was clearly not wild if a woman was chading after it? This doesn't make a lot of sense.

A follow-up would be nice. The random shooting of an animal cannot be condoned, can it? Would love to see the woman's court plea - let's think, she was in fear of her life from a vicious dog. Oh and let us not forget there WAS a life lost here.

Since when did it become legal to shoot dogs running across your property?? Maybe in Indiana and Texas but that wouldn't hold up in New Jersey. What a horrible tragedy that this woman was killed, probably just trying to get her dog back. I hope the shooter is properly punished. This isn't the wild west!

this is crazy - I agree, there must be more to it. Why would you shoot a dog to begin with - would love a follow up to this one

I really don't understand what all is going on in this article. Why the heck would the lady be sitting outside with a gun and want to shoot some harmless neighbor running through the yard chasing a dog? There has got to be more to the story.

I just don't understand legal terms. What is involuntary manslaughter? The woman had a gun and aimed it towards the person and dog. It seems like this was a voluntary act. Then the authorities say there was no evidence that the shooting was intentional. Then what was the gun out for?! If the shooting was not intentional, there would be no need for the gun!

Involuntary manslaughter is hat she was aiming for the dog but got the woman instead.
Thing to me is that she HAD to have seen the woman chasing the dog, so why shoot at all?

I don't believe that for a moment! How can you not see a woman Chasing a dog! She clearly lost her mind and needs serious help....why grab a gun? That doesn't solve a damn thing, and now this woman is gone and passed all because of a dog on your property? Call animal control! Why are you trying to shoot a dog anyway? What's this world coming to, that you can't even go outside with your dog and play? That woman is shameful! =(

Wow - I doubt this teaches anyone a lesson - but what is wrong with the woman who just decides to get out her gun because a dog runs across her lawn. IDIOT. Poor woman and her family - so senseless and completely unecessary.

That woman shouldn't have used a gun at all. There are laws about shooting near houses. I fell bad for the dead woman's family.

Obviously, Melinda Lindauer has some mental problems or was on drugs or drunk or something at the time of this incident. Why would she decide to shoot at a dog that was running on her property? Yet another example of guns in the wrong hands, and now a 29 year-old woman is dead and gone. How sad.

I read this story in the local papers. I think there was some mental instability involved.
