This behavior is preposterous. While I don't believe the 'allergy' story, the drivers could have at least had enough compassion to stop and tell her that another cab was on the way and make some effort to assist her. Thank goodness for the good samaritan that helped her out. Shame on people!!!

If you are a public servant and to me a taxi driver is then you need to put aside your reasons and serve the public as your occupation demands, this is sad, what if a taxi driver told them that they could not give them a ride due to religious or allergic problems. tables would be turned

What a horrible thing to happen. They were already tired and wanted to go home and this happens. The people who refused to take her should be ashamed of themselves. I am glad that nice lady gave her a ride.

That is outrageous! I have allergies to dogs too, but the man should have called another cab to take her home. Religious beliefs are no reason not to pick someone up. If you are a cab driver that is your job. If you can't pick someone up because of your religious beliefs than you need to go back to whatever country you came from where that kind of thinking is acceptible. It is not in ths U.S.

I am appalled. If that Taxi Driver is an employee of a Taxi Company he personally has NO rights, in my opinion, to refuse service because of RELIGION or ALLERGIES. I think the Taxi Co Owner's response was a "cop-out" and that he must condone this behavior. Shame on all of them!!!

I think that is horrible. If the guy truly had allergies, it needed to be documented but then he could;ve called another cab to help her. It seems she had many refusals that night. I wonder if people are just afraid of the dogs? I hope that the fines are collected and these people are held accountable somehow.

Public transportation, housing, and the like need to learn there are laws that protect service animals and they need to follow the rules.

I dont think so! What is wrong with people thinking that guide dogs do not have rights to be where people are allowed. There should be so kind of punishment for this kind of treatment.

It sounds like more than religious convictions going on here. Maybe the highest fine will persuade them.

That is terrible. I don't understand the big deal with these cab drivers.

Too bad Sun Taxi was not able to hear Diane's speech maybe they would have learned something. If every driver in the line of taxis had allergies then Sun Taxi needs to hire drivers that can do the job. I hope they get fined for not honoring the Blind Persons' Rights Act. I am thankful there are still people in the world who do the right thing and the eyewitness gave them a ride home.

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT SOMEONE WOULDN'T GIVE HER A RIDE. IF THERE WAS ANYONE THAT NEEDED A RIDE AND NEEDED THOUGHTFULNESS AND CONSIDERATION DURING TRAVEL IT WOULD BE THIS WOMAN. HOW STUPID.

Can't believe a "whole line" of taxi drivers are allergic or have religious convictions about transporting a dog. Give me a break! Hope they're all fined til it hurts!

i have read a couple stories like this and each one makes me madder than people are like this, that they wont let guide dogs in place or cars. it is still a disability and wrong to not give them their right to eat anywhere or ride anywhere. these people should be ashamed of themselves for not allowing the blind person and their dog their rights.
