Losing a pet is never easy regardless of the family status. I'm certain the Bush family will have avoid for sometime to come. The cat had a remarkable life - few animals can say they 'lived in the Whitehouse.' In fact, so many animals don't have a home at all regardless of the color of the house... My heart truly goes out to those animals.
Anyway, my condolences to the Bush family and to all that will no doubt miss this beloved pet.

The upmost sympathy goes to the Bush's. I had a cat for 16yrs and it was
very hard when she died and also a dog at 13. Animals do become a part of
the family and are truly missed.

My sympathy goes out to the Bush family. I had a cat that lived to be 17 years old and it was heartbreaking for me and my family when she passed away.

Kitty probably knew there time was up in the White House and didn't want to leave. She probably figured kitty heaven was the best choice.

Its always sad when a member of the family dies, but try and look at it this way he lived to be 18 years old, that is a good life for an animal in good care.

Always sorry for anyone's pet loss, but 18 certainly is a good long run, my oldest cat was 16 1/2. It probably was a blessing in a way, a major move at that age would not have been easy on Kitty. What a place to live out ones golden years!

Soon we'll be hearing news of a new First pet as well.

So sad that the cat had passed away but it lived a long life and I could only imagine the good life it had in the white house. A move at that age would have been very stressful for the cat. Hope the family is feeling a little better with their loss. R.I.P. Kitty!

India was very striking and beautiful and live a long life and I am sure was well taken care of. I am sorry to hear of the passing of India, but happy he lived a full life

Each time I hear about someone losing a long time family pet it breaks my heart. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. Im sure the cat lived a healthy and loving life with the Bush family and will be greatly missed.
