Wow. Thats such a long life for a little kitty. Obviously well taken care of. Very sad, but she lived a very good life. My heart goes out to them.

so sad but the cat is in a better place the cat is climbing cat trees as tall as a real tree and treats as far as the eye can see

It's funny how they called India "Kitty". We had a cat that we named Princess but she was always called "Kitty". May both Kittys rest in peace.

18 is a great life for a cat, he was obviously was well taken care of and loved by his family. I am glad for the family that the press hasn't made something horrible of this sad news in this already difficult time.

sad to lose a pet but it was a good long life. I guess they still have the dog Bush carried when we flipped the bird at a reporter! (funny how images stick in your mind! LOL!)

It seems like these old cats can sense a major transition in the near future and pass away shortly before. I had a 16 year old black cat that passed away a few months before the birth of our second son.

Animal intuition.

Sad, my heart goes out to the entire Bush family on their loss.

This really hit home with me because I currently have an 18 year old cat who I can see is starting to show the effects of time. I feel for the family- it's so sad to lose a pet. Atleast pet owners can take comfort in knowing that they gave their pet a great life as compared to the millions of animals left homeless...

I guess he didn't want to leave the power of the White House. It'd be nice if the Obama's got a cat, too. I'm sad for the death, but I hope our guys live 18+ years.

I also had a solid black cat who lived to 18. I am sure the Bush's cat had a great life. What a way to go....in the White House!!!!!

This is a sad story. I can empatize as our family cat died after 19 years. It is a tough loss after having a cat in the family so long.

aww how sad. I know I was crushed when my cat passed away at age 14. He was my childhood cat and went through all my yrs. of school and growing up. I still miss him so I'm sure he will be greatly missed

Be missed?

I had a dog for 19 years once. Losing her was like a having a BIG HOLE blown in my life !!

But, it's like the fella on the "Blue Collar Comedy" guys said, "If you want a pet for much longer than that, you oughta get a turtle.... or a TREE !!"
