Warsaw VA. – Michael Vick turned himself over to authorities at North Neck Regional Jail yesterday - three weeks before his sentencing.

The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback was scheduled to report for a Dec. 10th sentencing in the dog fighting case. Vick has admitted to personally killing eight pit bulls.

In April authorities seized dozens of dogs from the illegal operation, dubbed Bad Newz Kennels.

Vick could serve more than five years in prison for a guilty plea to dog fighting conspiracy – a federal crime.

In addition, Vick said he supplied money to the gambling operation - but denied gambling himself. Involved in gambling, either directly or indirectly, violates the NFL’s code of personal conduct, and may result in a lifetime ban.

Well he is out now. Let's see if the oh so greedy NFL hires him--I think that if they can overcome the backlash they will.

Supplies money for gambling, provided the "entertainment", provided the location, but was not directly involved with gambling - he only murdered the losers.... 5-years is not enough.

Two years in jail is definately not enough for the crimes he has committed.
 
That should be eight counts of murder. Killing dogs often a step on the way to killing people. Such an ability should be punished for what he did: murder times eight.

Just because he was a big time star did not give him the right to torture those poor animals. That is what dog fighting is it is toture. I hope he spends a long time in jail and when he gets out I hope he is never allowed to own animals and if he violates that right back to jail he should go.

I hope he has to spend the whole 5 years in prison and does not get pardoned early. He is a thoroughly disgusting man and deserves what he dog.

I think animal advocates and people all over who love animals celebrated the day Vick went to jail. To think I used to really like him as a pro ball player.

What a jerk! I'm glad he got busted. I can't imagine supporting dog fighting. How cruel and disgusting. Really funny that he claims he didn't participate in the gambling. Yeah right!

I don't believe for a moment that Mr. Vick didn't gamble ~ that's one of the big thing drawling people to this terrible activity. I'm glad he got jail time, and I hope this is a cautionary tale to others involved in this.

I hope he gets in big trouble while he is in the slammer and has to serve about 150 years more. Nothing is bad enough for this stinker! I think the name of his kennel said it all-Bad Newz Kennel? Well, this is a Bad Newz person. I hope he is never allowed to play football in his life and I hope he goes bankrupt and loses everything he has ever had and more. This is one disgusting piece of flesh!!!!!!

Honestly does he hope to get back in the NFL? By admitting that he supplied money but didn't gamble... surrrrrre.... I think it's a little late for him to try to make things look better for himself......
