While conventional standbys "Bella" and "Max" are still topping popular pet name lists, many owners bestow their four-legged friend with more original monikers.

Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), the nation's oldest and largest provider of pet health insurance, has searched their database thoroughly to unearth the most clever, creative and quirky pet names nationwide for 2012.

And after sorting through over 485,000 insured pets, here are their picks for the 10 Wackiest Dog and Cat Names of 2012:
