I can't believe the fact that the entire school board etc agreed on this! How wonderful that they could find a cause to help the children without the usual bickering. I hope the program is a big success.

Dogs are great in the schools - our kids get regular visits from dogs in school. Think it makes them all tune in and keeps them calmer. Great program.

It's wonderful that the entire school system agreed to this! What a great idea. All schools should have a therapy dog, perhaps assigned to the guidance counselors.

This is a wonderful idea. Kudos to Mr. Strabala. Spartan should be able to help for many years to come, and how great that they took a stray dog to do this with.

Good for the school board and the teachers! This is a wonderful idea, and a great dog was rescued. Some bureaucracies can think outside the box! This is a real plus for both the dog and the students.

What a wonderful story proving that all dogs are of value to society whether they are strays or purebreeds. It would be wonderful for every school to implement a program like this. Thanks to James Madison Middle School for giving Spartan a chance!

A terrific story. Having the dog there will be a warm memory that these kids will never forget. Glad there wasn't oceans of red tape before the school officials decided it was ok.
