I'm very saddened by the news of "Socks", the Clinton White House cat, passing away. I'm glad that he got to live to a ripe old age, & that he had such a long celebrated & busy life! With all the hulabaloo surrounding politics it's always nice to have a furry pet to focus on to distract one from life's hardships! As an animal lover, I'm always pleased, of course, whenever a First Family has a pet, but "Socks" was quite unique, & brought such flair to his time in the White House. May he rest in peace.

So sad. I know they'll miss Socks. She was a beautiful cat and anyone would have been lucky to have her company for that long! If you get another cat go to a shelter please!

Maybe the cat was depressed after being dumped by his owners. How can a normal person give up their baby. My cats are like my babies, I simply can't conceive how they coould just move on with their lives and leave him behind. Some piece of work that family is!

I really think the Clintons should have taken the cat with them, or at least gotten Socks back after the dog died.
