The feral cats eating the eggs sounds like a lame excuse to me, how would they be here if they weren't hatching.

Hard to believe they werent discovered before now. Its not like no one lives/goes there. Maybe some other species that were thought extinct will be found somewhere in the world soon too.

Very interesting, but watch these biologists do something awful to the feral cats if they are harming the iguanas' eggs.

My wife and I just saw all sorts of iguanas on a vacation trip to Costa Rica. Some of them were as large as small dogs. They were enormous and so incredible in that most of the males were orange in that it is mating season.

I wonder if he turned pink only during a specific time, i.e. mating season? I think most of them turn orangish during mating season. During the rest of the time, they blend in with the green foliage.

How fascinating! I hope they just leave them alone. I have always wanted to visit Galapagos, but I never will because I don't think it should be trampled on by humans.

I wish this lizard had remained overlooked. Once people start invading its territory to study it, it will probably become extinct.
