This just goes to show you that there are a lot of things out there that we aren't aware of. A pink iguana is quite a discovery.

I wonder why the park rangers ignored the discovery of this iguana back in 1986 because they thought the stripes were only stains? Seriously, don't you think seeing a 5 foot pink iguana is worth mentioning stained or not?

I agree. went there this year and would recommend to everyone. not easy to get there but once there, you never want to leave. highly recommend the finch bay hotel on the main island. good day boat trips and quality food and accomodations. we went in late may and weather was spectacular.

A pink iguana? Maybe it was embarrassed and has been hiding for these past 5 million years!

This is an interesting find. What's even more interesting is that the news had previously announced 10 new species of animals were just recently discovered. It makes one wonder how many more species are out there waiting to be discovered.

Interesting story. Just one thing though..... If they soon find a dinosaur, can I run the other way please! lol! Seriously, it is nice they found it, and I wonder if there are others around. I also wonder how it survived in, so called, a different world than what they were used to as a species.

a great find. It causes one to wonder if there are not many more undiscovered creatures roaming this earth. I am sure they will work to find why small lizards are not readily seen. Feral cats are good hunters and may need eradication to preserve the lizards.

The Galapagos are such a cool place! Amazing evolution of animals and who would have thought after so many years of scientists studying the islands that they would only now discover a new species.
I hope the feral cats on the islands are addressed so this area of wildlife is not lost.

Amazing and huge! How could someone skip over that? I didn't think animals could be dismissed as being stained. What did they think, that they were eating pink fruit?

Can't say "Pretty in pink" but it only goes to show us that there's a great amount we don't know of some of the animals that share our planet.
