Now, as long as humans don't go interfering with their new discovery, the iguanas will continue to thrive.. let's just document that they exist and back off. They've managed to survive thousands of years without our interference.

It's hard to believe this iguana has gone undetected as long as it has being the size it is.

Sweet! I am lucky enough to visited the Galapagos, but no one mentioned any pink iguanas when I was there! We saw plenty of the regular land iguanas. It is an amazing place--the islands *are* small, but there are plenty of places for animals to hide. The feral invaders are a real issue there--cats, goats, rats. I'm not sure why there isn't more success at getting those animals off the islands.

This is a great story to read after some of the others in the news! How very exciting this is, a wonderful world we live in. I do hope that they don't find that it is on the road to extinction as we have just found it!

They have gone unnoticed this long, and they already tested 36 that they found! How do you overlook that many? I guess nobody thought anything of them.

It's amazing that this species was just recently discovered. The Galapagos must be one of the most studied places on earth.
