The Galapagos are a rough enviornment, probably not alot of natural predators able to survive on the particular island that the iguana calls home

It is surprising that a reptile this color would survive in the wild, given its inability to blend into the surroundings.

I just read the article about the pink dolphin, although that was thought to be an albino. How often is a new species discovered? It must be very exciting for those scientists.

Wow! It is so rare to discover a new species of large vertebrate! It makes sense though. People probably just thought it was a variant of another species with a slightly weird color.

I am sure that there are other species that may be found in the Galapogos islands. It is pretty wonderful all the different things that can be found in nature.

What's with the pink animals all of a sudden? First the dolphin, now this iguana. Next thing you know someone will be linking it to global warming.

Interesting story. One of my closest friends went there last year-but didn't see the pink lizard. She loved the islands though and after hearing her stories, I hope they remain safe and pollution free for all these creatures.

It is truly amazing how much we do not know about our planet. Let's hope there's no commercial value and these lizards are allowed to live in peace.

Nice they discovered this species of lizard. I wonder what makes its pink colors? I just hope that somehow they can keep the Galapagos animals from harm, as now too many tourists there! We need to protect this land and the animals on it.

This is truly a rare event. As they said, finding a new, large, vertebrate species doesn't happen every day. Very cool.
