I think the Smith family adopted a wonderful dog. I hope Pepper will stay with a different dog-sitter next time! I wish both dogs a happy, long life.

labs are very smart dogs we have one that comes to grooming he is a servive dog and boy is he smart and sooo well behaved

yeah.. so true.. walking Miya one night I ran into someone frantically walking through the park calling a name and squeaking this toy.. she just got a puppy and had a date for the night.. she asked a friend of hers to watch the puppy for the night. she said an hour after leaving the puppy with her friend she got a phone call that the puppy took off. I felt so bad for her so we exchanged cell phone numbers and Miya and I took off combing the park. she texted me 20 minutes later to say she found the puppy and thanked me for caring. she said never again friend or not.

Nice story. It has been my experience that animals generally are more in tune with the plights/illnesses/dangers to other animals that we human are toward each other.

I agree, everything good or bad happens for a reason. I have a new dog that we pulled from the Missouri River, I don't need another dog, I already had three and she has completly turned my life and house upside down, but I really feel that she was brought into my life for a reason. So she gets to stay for as long as she lives, I'm sure she will pay it forward some day maybe.
