I have seen his youtube videos. They are great. Its just that most owners are lazy and really are not consistent in training.

A lot of good comments have already been made. Let me add that I hope the show demonstrates how much care and focus it takes to train dogs so that they enjoy the training. Then it will show people that dogs won't fetch a beer for a lazy person, but they'd do that and more for someone they love and respect!

This could be an interesting show. My concern is the use of the word extreme. To what lengths will the trainers go to teach these dogs? As for fetching a beer? I say let the lazy human do it...we already know how smart our dogs are.

I'm not at all a fan of the name since children will be watching the show. I think they could have come up with something better than that!

It is a great idea otherwise, as long as the dogs are not being worked too hard and don't get hurt. I have always believed that dogs are more trainable than people! lol

Just so the animals aren't pushed too hard. I wouldn't want to see any of them injured. I don't like the name of the show, as children will be watching it, too. There are a lot more important things for a dog to do than fetch a beer for someone who is too lazy to get it himself!

I agree Momba! The name is definitely a turn off for me. And, I could think of many other things to teach a dog instead of fetching a beer.

We had a cat and dog when I was a kid. We'd take our dog for a walk on a leash. Our cat would go for the walk with us, only he'd be walking along the front of each house, behind the bushes. But he would go all the way back and forth with us. We tried a harness on him and he would just roll over. He did things his way!

I remember seeing the ad for this upcoming show. i was interested and would still be, to see what methods they are going to use to teach the dogs. As a trainer myself, safety is a key factor when training a dog, for the dog and the handler. Dogs are capable of learning many skills and tricks- its the handler that has to learn how to communicate it to the dog!

Teaching a dog advanced frisbee work is fine to teach a dog in good physical shape. I just hope they do get stupid with some of their "tricks". Keep the animals' safety and capabilities in mind. Sounds like something I would be willing to check out.
