So sad!! Back when I was in high school I did a report on all the species of tigers and so many have become extinct. They are a beautiful animal and it's a shame their numbers are still dropping today.

Their numbers have dropped so much just the past few years due to loss of habitat. I fear in just a short time they will become nearly extinct.

Those poor tigers. If people would quit going into their habitat they would have no reason to bother people

It is so sad that the cub died. I am sure the doctors did all they could in trying to save the cub's life. I am glad that one of the cubs survived and will have a chance at life.

sorry to hear the little one died. The whole situation is very sad - no one wins when people feel threatened by a predator.

I was very sorry to hear this I was hoping for the best and the cub would survive, I am happy they worked so hard to save the cub, it must have been very heartfelt for all who were involved when the cub passed away.

So sad. I was hope there would be a positive ending to this story. I am at least glad that they tried their best. Hopefully it will spark an interest in (1) working on saving the tigers in India more, and (2) continuing research on animal blood types.

Education is such a critical thing in our world today. If we can show people that tigers aren't the man-killers the stories say they are, these cubs may not have been in this situation to begin with.

I completely agree. It isn't that the villagers are stupid or mean, they really just don't understand how to handle such a situation. You are right, though, education is so critical today. It can help us to solve problem and understand others better. I wonder if they will work with villages, especially the one where these cubs came from. That would be really cool. Maybe help keep this from happening again.

Your right and it is sad that the villagers did not call in the proper authority to handle this situation. Had they done so, none of this may have happened.

It's so sad that Juhi didn't survive, but at least Jai did. Hopefully, something was learned this time that will make treatment more successful should it be needed again. There should also be a campaign to educate people that might come across these rare cats to get help from the wildlife authorities rather than kill.

We definitely have to try and look at the positives here. Like you said, one cub did survive. Also, hopefully it will open some eyes and make them see that they need to start some sort of program or campaign to help prevent such incidents

My heart is broken. I knew this would be the outcome--but i had hoped I'd be wrong.

The villager's need education and a trained small group of people to watch over the tigers in the vicinity so they can be warned of their entry near the village and not killed. Rare and beautiful wildlife such as tigers are an excellent tourist attraction and perhaps a program can be developed to help the villagers afford to use the tiger instead of fearing and killing them.

Judging from the previous article, the cat probably died because the donated blood was the wrong type. Maybe they will learn from this, and start keeping records of each captive rare animal's blood type.

You know Mike Tyson personally owns FIVE tigers? I think that's insane. It's a shame that their numbers in the wild are deteriorating, but I would rather see big cats in the hands of a rescue ranch or zoo than with Mike Tyson.

That is so sad. The poor cubs didn't know why the villagers were beating them, or what happened to their mother. I will only take a wild guess their mom left the cubs because humans (probably poachers) got her and she didn't decide on her own to leave her babies. I hope if momma tiger was the victim of poachers, she did some damage too, but if so, the poachers would never admit to where their injuries came from.
Only 1500 tigers left in the wild. It is such a shame.

Good luck to Jai and the vets in her recuperation.
