At least they tried to save her, which is more than one would hope given India's economic troubles. I believe, though, that India has become a center for lower cost medical care, so they may have access to better treatments than we "Westerners" suspect. I know that Thailand is advanced in some areas, too.

It's a pity that Juhi didn't make it, but the doctors learned, and maybe they'll be able to save another tiger cub if the situation arises.

It is inspiring to hear, what is considered a 3rd World Country, doing so much to attempt to save this tiger's life

I am happy to hear they tried to save the animal instead of just killing it.

The reduction of the species is alarming. I am pleasantly surprised to hear of the gallant efforts to save him

Sad, but the people did put in great effort to save the cub, rather than killing it or letting it die.

Sad to read this, especially about the population dropping so severly. I understand the fear of the villages for their safety. Just a tough situation over there regarding the tigers. Bummer.

I'm sorry to hear this. Tigers are so majestic, and they are, unfortunately, becoming increasingly rare. We need to save as many as we can.

While I am saddened to hear that he did not make it, I am glad his sister is doing well. I want a tiger. (I know I cannot have one).

Very sad that they were unable to save this cub. To me, if efforts to keep tigers from going extinct are ultimately unsuccessful, the planet will have lost one of its most magnificent creatures.

That is so sad, sure wish that they would have been taken to the zoo BEFORE being beaten. Sounds like that community needs some education.

Sounds like they didn't cross match the tiger cub before doing the transfusion and it had an allergic reaction. Too bad. At least they tried to save it.

I'm glad that at least they tried to save the cub. With less than 2,000 in the wild, every one counts, genetically.

That's so sad. At least they tried, and with any luck they'll keep developing this technology so they can successfully give blood transfusions to tigers like this in the future.

This story makes my heart bleed, not simply because the tiger cub died (which is tragic in itself) but because the animal could have been sold (and the village would have benefitted) to a zoo where it could have breed and been an educational aid. A win-win situation was made into a lose-lose situation.

We have to learn to respect and value God's creatures. They should not be killed for vanity, for food, for fur, for greed. God please forgive us.
