I think if we all fight to stop puppy mills and pet shops, Then we could put a stop to it. we have to stand together. I am sick of reading or seeing the news tell of 100 plus animals going to a shelter because of a breeder. These poor animals have to live in cages with no love.

Hats off to the HSUS for getting the word out and cracking down on puppy mills and dog fighting! They have done so much to halt this cruelty. And it is working!

It is frustrating that some people still buy from places like this. So many shelters have great dogs.

I would think most people should know by now how horrible these mills are-i would not buy a pet from a store because of this. the public needs to be reminded not just at holidays but year round. there are enough animals at shelters who need good homes.

Pet shelters are the way to get your pets. Unless you are going to show your dog, and how many people who have dogs really do that, why on earth would you buy one? There are plenty in shelters all over the country. Looking for a particular breed? You will find one at a shelter somewhere.

Puppy mills just need to be eliminated. There has to be a way if enough people worked to accomplish this. The animals are kept in horrible conditions, killed if they don't have enough puppies, and any seen defect is rejected because the pet stores won't accept them not to mention the high number of unseen birth defects found after the puppy is adopted out. Shut them down.

Humana societies and shelters are some of the best places to get pets. All my pets have come from the humana society. They are some of the most loving creatures.
