Now rather they should stand by the vendor, well I see their point of doing so until a full investigation takes place.

Doubt, heck, even McDonalds hires companies to have secret shoppers buy its foods and discuss how was the service, how was the food.
Now, at least Peta did it without warning.
that breeder company probally hid its ills when any petsmart person was to show up,heck they probally even told them they were coming.lol

I don't always agree with them but they are the ones that go undercover to record these abuses.

I'll wait for all the facts (or as many as we'll ever get from the media) before making any determinations, thanks.

I've worked at two different stores and at each store, animals are brought to a back room at the first sign of illness. They're kept in a sterile environment and given the medications that they need. I can't imagine why they would keep a hamster with a tumor on the floor, but that would never be allowed at the stores that I've worked in. I love animals and all of the people that I've worked with at both stores love animals as well. We do everything that we can to make sure that our animals are treated well, while in the store and after they go home. The company truly does make an effort to only hire PetCare employees that are the same, but I'm sure that people that don't really care manage to get hired sometimes as well.
Either way, PetSmart has really high/strict standards for animal care, and in my experience they follow through to make sure the standards are being kept up. I guess some districts just aren't as good as others though. I don't know. I'll be talking to my managers to find out what the deal is behind this story, and if we'll be continuing to use this breeder.

Sorry I do not trust anything PETA says at all.
I also believe that PETA either staged or highly exaggerated most of this.
Also Petsmart is NOT responsible for this. The vendor MAY be, but I won't believe that until another source investigates.

Also this was just one chain. I have been to over 20 Petsmart locations (and no I am not exagerrating at all!!) and I have had very positive experiences with each and every one. You can not judge a whole company based on one chain's irresponsible management!!!
