I feel like i'm in the Twighlight Zone here.... I'm reading all these comments and I'm waiting for the "LOL" or "LMAO" or something... But it really seems like all of you are Dead serious about your comments. It's scary weird for you guys to be defending a dog, because someone yelled at the damn dog. I wouldn't abuse or hurt any person or thing for no reason... but it's a Freaking dog People. it doesn't have feelings like you or I. It doesn't process thoughts and emotions and cadences of people's speech. Wake up. No one should go to jail for taunting a Police officer, let alone a Police Dog.

From a GSD web site:
PA. MAN JAILED ON DOG TAUNTING CHARGE
October, 12 2007
PITTSBURGH - A Pittsburgh man accused of taunting a police dog on Sunday was being held in jail on $100,000 bail. Police say Kenneth King, 23, taunted Benny, a German shepherd, as he walked by a police vehicle.
Police say King screamed that he hates dogs and threatened to kill the animal after it started barking.
King's mother said the situation is serious, but questioned the high bail. She said people have been arrested for hurting people and they don't have bail set that high.
Taunting police animals is a felony under Pennsylvania's animal cruelty law.

A highly trained dog as this is not going to stand for taunting-maybe the guy should not have to do jail time, but some community service for messing with the police.

So let me get this straight. This fool is 23 years old and he feels confident in spewing from his orifice whenever it pleases him to do so? What really baffles me is how his misguided mother would rush to his defense. Truth IS stranger than fiction!

The dog is a police officer and it sure would have been taken seriously if he had threated to kill a human officer. Too bad they didn't have the dog "subdue" this idiot.

I do think he should be punished, but $100,000? That does seem a little extreme.

Seems to me that it would be the same as taunting a Police Officer....

I'm glad to see that this man's bail is set so high. In other states animal taunting is nothing, i'm glad that it is a Felony. All the other states should get on board with that and have it for all animals. Most people think of animals as humans and we need to do all we can to get them justice for they have no voice.
