I nee to get one of these my smaller dog almost died earlier this year when my larger dog got her lower jaw twisted around his collar. If I hadn't been home he probably would not have survived it still brings tears to my eyes! Since then I have not put a collar on him unless going for a walk. I still get scared that he may get out one day though and even though he is microchipped I may not get him back I am def. investing in one of these!

It is good to see a dog owner putting his concern for his pet into a practical invention. His doggie bag idea will no doubt catch on as well as the un-catchable collar!

Our dogs don't wear collars in the house or in the yard for this reason. And not just out of fear for snagging onto something. They wrestle so much, I'm afraid pulling on a collar would place one at an unfair advantage.

My mom had a dalmatian puppy when she was a little girl that hung itself trying to jump out of the barn. It's too bad but, at least something has been made to prevent another tragic accident.

This is a good idea to have elastic in the collar so the dog doesn't strangle. We had a relatives dog get snagged on a protrusion of their coffee table and she struggled and paniced and they had to cut the collar.

They've made collars like this for cats for years. I've always wondered why they were so hard to find for dogs...

My husband saved his dog that has haning from the side of a pickup truck that was caught by his collar. His parent's were taking the dog somewhere. We now have the dog and he always rides in the car or truck. Our dogs do not wear their collars in the house, only when we take them out with us...just in case something should happen while we are not around.

this is WONDERFUL!!! our dog ran away through the woods a few years ago and even though we were scared we wouldn't find him, we were also scared he'd get caught on a tree and strangle on his collar. I think this collar will do very well... i will be buying 2!

I have a friend whose puppy strangled himself in his crate. I wish she had known about this collar then. It was a heartbreaking thing to discover this on her return home. I advise everyone I know to take collars off their dogs when leaving them in a crate. I honestly didn't know until reading the article that this was not just a freak accident. It happens more than I thought.

I have seen this numerous times with cat collars but never before with a dog. I think it is about time that someone came up with one as dogs have the same issue (though arguably not as often) as cats do with getting stuck.
