On Tuesday, Oct. 27, New Yorkers generously donated $19,000 to the Glen Wild Animal Rescue at Unleashed, an Auction and Cocktail Party held at the Carlton Hotel in Manhattan.
There were generous items donated to be auctioned off for the cause; including near-impossible-to-get tickets for the Late Show with David Letterman. There to auction off the items were Alan Kalter (of the Late Show), Spencer Ross, and honorary chair of The Glen Wild Animal Rescue, Bernadette Peters. The money earned will be used to facilitate the animals at this unique shelter.
The Glen Wild Animal Rescue promotes Humane Education and provides Pet Adoption Services. For the animals who reside there, it is said that they live in a sanctuary where are given love and care in a home setting.

It's heartwarming to see so many capable people gathering together to help out the critter-needy. It didn't say, but I'm assuming that with this 'natural' habitat where the animals live out their lives (or are eventually able to be adopted out), that they are at least spayed/neutered and given basic vaccinines.
Here's hoping to many more such events all over. So many more need shelter and homes.
