I am glad they are thinking about such issues and taking precautions, but I wonder how much this is going to affect the dogs' performance. I know even after months of wearing his boots out in the snow, Joe still can't run nearly as well wearing boots as he can without them. He's clearly more surefooted with them off than on, even though he's been wearing them in the winter for two years. I wonder if they found the same thing with these police dogs.

I glad that they are taking the necessary precautions to help prevent further paw injuries in these brave animals.

I'm sure the dogs won't like them at first, but they'll get use to them. What a blessing for their feet!!

These dogs are working dogs and need this protection. I know I couldn't get my dog to wear them, but she didn't really need them either.

As stated before, I think it is a good idea to protect the workers feet. They too need protective gear. Hope this comment has what zootoo wants so it will not be taken away again. thanks zootoo

I guess I wonder why the city is tolerating the continuance of behavior that results in broken beer bottles everywhere, and why switching to cans wouldn't be as feasible as shoes for police dogs.

that is absolutely a good idea since these dogs are around a lot of debris and could easily get injured
