I wish this could be a year-round event! As a veterinarian, it's so frustrating when I'm presented with a cat that is beyond help but could have been cured had I just seen the pet earlier on in the disease process. Bring your kitties in for exams +/- lab work-up TWICE a year if they're over 5 years old. They are way too subtle about illness to not do so.

A good article for those who think they don't have to take their cats to the vet even for a yearly check up.

What an important issue to raise awareness on. I faithfully take my cats to the Vet in January. Unfortunately, I am usually there 2-3X more per year due to medical concerns. Since having 2 Senior cats, I've learned that it is very important to get regular physical check-ups and also dental exams and cleaning.

Always good to raise awareness! My kitties go in the fall, not willingly, but they go!

I want kids and once I have them I will take them to the doctor of course. Also Maybe I should tell our neighbors maybe that will get them to got to the vet to have their cat Charlie nuetered he harresses all the female cats around here even if they are spayed. last night he was harrassing Snow white who just gave birth to kittens very recently she lives in some apartments on the block. He also use to do the same thing to poor storm who was a stray kitten that was barely 5 months old until we were able to bring her in to the house and find her a home.
