It's terrible that the dog had to pay with his life due to his owner's carelessness. I would never leave my dog alone tied up in a public area. Anything could happen. I don't even leave my dogs outside in my fenced in yard when I leave the house. They are always bought in when I leave home.

AMEN. This was so avoidable. If the man had his priorities in order he would still have his best friend. I am not so sure I believe that dog was killed for food. Hawaii is not a Third World Country. Maybe I am just being naive here.

Where the heck were those dog eaters from? China? Who steals a dog and eats it? There are easier ways of getting food if you're hungry. I suppose they will get off with a slap on the wrist. Makes me sick!

How sad. I feel bad for the man. but if the dog was a golfing buddy, then maybe the dog should have been along with the man golfing and not tied up in a strange spot. If you can't have the dog with you, maybe it shouldve been left at home?
Just feel bad about the situation.

Is it not much easier to steal from a store pre-packed animals. If you're already going to steal anyway, why bother with butchering and dog meat? Absurd.

i have heard that hawaii is like another country when it comes to pets. do these people remember they are apart of the states? we dont do that in the states! i dont care if it was for hunger. there are shelters. go there.

Here we go again with our laws to protect animals- they just don't exist! How crazy. There needs to be better laws in place and strict enforcement and harsher penalties. Also maybe they should re-evaluate the fact that a bill would have prevented this nightmare!
