Both amazing since I'm sure the dog didn't know the Heimlich maneuver and carbon monoxide has no odor(at least not to humans).

I don't know how the dog got enough pressure to Heimlich, but that's great. I know of other animals who have saved friends-one dog saved a coworker of mine from CO fumes, also.

Toby and Winnie are very special pets. First, they were rescued and they, in turn, rescued their owners. Nice to read about true heroes.

Sometimes we cannot rely on only ourselves. I would hope that my dogs would do something like this for me if the time ever called for it. Dogs are truly man's best friend! I hope Toby & Winnie got some treats with their awards!

Nice story! The animals don't actually meet my definition of hero, putting your own life on the line to do something important, but saving lives sure counts for something! Who'd have thought dogs would jump on your chest like that?

WOW! SO SWEET! SO WAS THE DOG TRAINED TO DO THE HEIMLICH? IF NOT THAT KIND OF SOUNDS LIKE A BIT OF A PROUD OWNER EXAGGERATION TO ME? BUT STILL SWEET STORY!

There is something about a rescued animal. They seem to know where they came from and what you have done for them. My 3 pitties have it made but I know they will always remeber the shelter life they came from... Our shelter does work hard to help the animals.. but it is a very stressful situation.
