Stuff like this happens all the time and I think it is great. The presence of a dog, even a small one at times, can be a real lifesaver. Studies have shown that homes with a dog, especially a yapper, are less likely to be broken into.

I'll bet there are some carjacking victims that wish Diesel had been in the back of the car. That would scare the ______ out of anyone.

Wow. Growing up with Danes, I know how protective they can be. That would be a really scaring situation.

I would have loved to see the guys face also! Good think he wasn't armed, but then this is the UK where they have much stiffer gun laws and fewer guns. I am assuming the guy jumped out of the car after a few feet.
I have always loved Great Danes and have never met a mean one. Every one I have met has always greeted me a stranger with wags and sweetness.

Great funny story. A welcome relief after the multitude of negative stories that we al share on Zootoo. I had a Great Dane for eight sweet tumultuous years. A rescue, he was never your typical quiet and well mannered giant, but he was gentle and loving, and is ever missed-- although the postman and children's magazine salesman and the water meter reader and other strangers might swear differently. Protect my home and my children he did. I know a wonderful Great Dane who really gave a would be thief the scare of his life. Her family had rather carelessly left a ladder on the side of their home. A criminal type decided to use it to gain entry through a window that was left ajar on the upper level. Up the ladder he went, only to be meeted and greeted by a 160 lbs. snarling beast, she who with total efficiency opted to use her two fronts paws and push ladder and intruder into away from the house and onto the hard ground below. Danes are amazing dogs!

This is funny. I bet it will be a long time before that person thinks about stealing another car or at least being aware of what they are getting in with. HaHa
