UNITED KINGDOM – A thief in Brixham, UK, got the shock of his life when a giant Great Dane woke up from a nap in the backseat of the car he just stole.
The car snatcher hopped into the car and only managed to drive a few feet from where it was originally parked when he looked into the rearview mirror and saw 11-month-old Diesel pop up in the backseat.
Diesel, who on his hind legs stands at six feet tall, was taking a quick nap and apparently fogged up the car windows enough that the intruder wasn’t able to see him.
His owner, Karen Griggs, stepped out of her Toyota Rav for a few minutes to pick up her two children from school, which was just enough time for the man to hop into the car.
Griggs' husband Nick sad he wish he could’ve seen the look on the man’s face who stole the car. He said the car doesn’t have an alarm – but clearly Diesel proved equally effective.
He also said that Diesel is a gentle dog and wouldn’t harm a fly.
