Doesn't seem that this was enough to help stop Ford's downward spiral.

We're thinking about getting a new vehicle soon and having something that make it easy to transport pet carriers is a must for me.

Agree it is the people who practice common sense that make the pet safe.
Good story though.

Sounds like the car industry is noticing that people have pets, sometimes only pets, and people much of the time feel as strongly toward their pets as their children. Safety first should have been the motto of car companies for sometime now. And it also kind of sounds like a gimmick at the same time.

Hmmm.... Suprised by that. Although without some type of crate or restraint harness, chances are they'll still get very injured in a wreck... (even thrown from the car).

This seems like one of the few things Ford is doing right. The US auto industry is a mess and appealing to pet owners is not going to help them out a lot. With the amount of money people spend on their pets, you would think auto makers would put some more pet friendly features into their vehicles.

Good for Ford! Very, very smart to come up with safety for pets in cars.

Who did Ford pay off! I cannot for the life of me see that much difference in cars. We usually buy Chrysler products, and if we get a big enough car we have room for our pets. If we get a small car, we don't. It's that simple.

I don't know how scientific this study and findings are, but I agree this is a good marketing strategy. I know I am concerned about my animals safety in my cars.
