I love watching "Animal Planet" because it's so encouraging to know how many people out there really do care about helping animals. I find it inspirational, and in some ways it won't matter who wins because they've all done such amazing work.

I'm sure none of these people do what they do for an award or even a pat on the back. They do it for the animals. The award money will go a long way to help a lot of very deserving creatures. It must have been a hard task to pick from all the nominations. I look forward to seeing who won.

Wait a minute! The way I read this article the contest is over and done with.
It says :"Few Days Left to Vote....
Viewers can vote for finalists in Animal Planet's third Hero of the Year Award now through Oct.13."
Today is Nov.10th.

I just saw this and apparently missed the voting cut-off. !!

I would have voted for the greyhound rescue...so close to my heart and pen.
