It never ceases to amaze and anger me that there are so many creeps that make their way in the world stealing from others.

This is also kidnapping. So what happened to these people? I would like an update on what their punishment was if any. A fine & a slap on the wrist?

More fine, upstanding citizens in our world. It really makes me feel ashamed to be part of the human race at times. At least the animals were 'well cared for' according to the article. I certainly hope they spend the entire 10 years behind bars.

What's the punishment?? 10 years? I'd be curious to see if they actually spend 10 years in jail for this crime.

I wonder what happens to the animals that have already been sold to people--do they have to give them back to the pet stores they were stolen from?

These three felons were stealing at least some of the animals from zoos? Wallabees? Toucans? Amazing. Hope they get the book thrown at them, but the bottom line is that exotic animals most certainly do not belong in shops in the first place.

How in the world could you steal an animal from a zoo??? I can just picture these people smuggling a toucan out from the aviary under their coat. Amazing what people will do when they're desperate! I had a bearded dragon lizard stolen about 2 years ago.

I'll second that motion. Animals are not products but are living, breathing beings. Don't even think of putting a bar code on them!

I understand The Internet is responsible for a lot of exotic animal sales. It should be against the law. Exotic animals should stay in their natural habitat. I hope these guys get some time and a stiff fine. Also, the pet store owner lost $50K to the thieves? The pet store owner is just as guilty as the black marketers. Why won't people stop this practice...well...maybe $50K tells the story!

Why would the internet allow the sale of exotic pets among individuals? They should also be charged with selling exotic pets across state lines. Jail is too good for them.
