It is incredibly troubling for me to try to understand why this shooting had occurred, but the female should be very grateful for her companion's companionship. As Jim had commented, I wish that Zootoo would update stories such as these for closure. I would like to have read a follow-up on the dog and the family.

Can you imagine feeling safe in your home and then having people shoot at it! The puppy took the bullet and yes, how disappointing that the vet didn't do the eye surgery. Even if it was done by monthly payments! It is very rare to find a vet or doctor these days who cares more about their patients than their checking account. But there are still some vets out there who do and we hope these people find one for this pup.

I enjoyed reading this It always pleases me when people go out of their way to save a pet, they could have taken the easy way out but they opted to preserve the life of this wonderful dog. I hope someone has read this story and jumps in with donations for this worthy dog and family .

God bless the Springers for realizing that they have a very special companion who shouldn't be euthanized.

Good for these people opting to save the dog. Isn't there some humane organization in the area that would foot the bill for the surgery? The poor puppy did not have a chance, and the young lady would be dead if it weren't for him. As for why their house was shot up--since when do today's pschycopaths need a reason to do anything, except they feel like it!

I hope a vet would volunteer to do this. Poor pup. I hope he is well very soon. I also agree the story should have had some info on donations.
