I hope so much that the dolphins returned to the ocean ~ being in a river which can become covered with ice is too risky for the air breathing mammals!

The last I heard, they were no longer able to spot the dolphins. Hopefully, they were able to return to the ocean waters.

There is so much we don't understand about the behavior of marine mammals. These dolphins may know exactly what they are doing. They are pretty smart creatures and will probably be just fine.

I feel that the dolphins will be fine. The food thing is a likely problem but dolphins are one of the smartest animals on earth. I think if they run out of food they will be able to figure that out and fix it.

I too would have liked to have known the outcome. The news is good at delivering a situation but not the results....

Dolphins are intelligent creatures, interesting that they chose New Jersey to stay and hang out, I'm sure that when they choose to leave they will and head out to sea. The waters of New Jersey sure do get cold in the winter time. I hope that they get out of there before they harm themselves.

Living in NJ, the news comments on this quite often. It's hard, but sometimes you have to let the wild be the wild.

I dont understand why they stayed put there. I hope they did get out alive and are ok. I do know that this earth is messed up from man and somehow we need to get it better fast. Not sure if it can be done anymore!

Makes you wonder if global warming someone affects the dolphins radarsonar that would make them stay in a colder area and not head south.

hope the dolphins make it out before getting stuck, attempts to rescue them would be risky for everyone and no garuntees but would have to be tried. wonder why animals do what we do sometimes.

I can't believe that they would choose our tri-state area to spend their winter in. I hope they make it. Of course today it is 50 degrees in CT. So maybe they will be fine :)

I have a feeling they will know when to leave the area... self preservation is an instinct, and unless something is holding them back then i think they will be alright

I'm gonna google this and see if I can find an update.. but I would also think these dolphins will be fine. If by some chance the water does freeze I am sure those watching the dolphins will help in some way.. Just a few people could keep some of the ice broke up in a few areas where the dolphins can come up to breathe..
