Sometimes you have to believe that true nature has to be allowed to run its own course.

I hope these people who advocate leaving the dolphins where they are will have a plan for when the river freezes over.

I would hope that the dolphins' survival instincts would kick in if the environment is really that potentially hostile. Hopefully, the scientists watching the group will be able to intervene successfully if a problem does arise, but I agree that as long as the dolphins are healthy, they should be left alone.

I agree Jodi, there must be ample food for them to continue to stay where they are and hopefully they will move on when they determine it it time to do so.

I agree. As long as they are healthy and doing well, leave them alone. Hopefully they will move in to more open water if the river starts to freeze over. If not, then maybe a rescue can be attempted. It's hard not to just jump right in and do something. Sometimes, letting nature take it's course isn't easy.

hopefully a group will intervene if it doesn't look like they'll make it, maybe they'll even swim out as the water begins to freeze and food starts to run out

I sure hope the dolphins will survive. I hate these stories where they end up where they don't belong.

We can just hope that it doesn't freeze, maybe they will move on to warmer waters if it gets too cold for them

I guess letting wild animals be wild is important but it is hard not to help "nudge" them in the right direction.

Does anyone know why the others died? If they stay aren't the dolphins going to be in danger again once spring and summer comes around with all the boats?

Blubber or not, why would they want to be where it's cold when they could be in the tropics working on their tans!??

I have blubber and I'd rather be in the tropics! I am glad, however, the authorities are watching them and are ready to intervene if needed.

As long as the situation is being monitored and the dolphins are healthy and are in no immediate threat that they should be left alone. The waters are not going to freeze overnight so if and when it looks like they could be in trouble, hopefully The Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intervene.

We see a lot of them off the coast of Georgia. Do hope they will be able to survive up there. I am sure they will be closely monitored.

Our weather is changing, our seasons are changing and these animals do not know what to do about it. Their natural instincts are being thrown off. If you want to know why the weather and seasons are changing google "chem trails" "chemical trails" or visit youtube.com and search the same.

I think it would be wrong to interfere as long as they aren't in danger. I know that alewife seem to have population spurts now and then, so maybe that's what's drawing them in the winters. I hope they will be monitored and the ice kept open if the river starts to freeze.

I agree that we shouldn't interfere as long as they seem to be healthy and happy. They are wild and unless they are in imminent danger we should leave them alone.
