I HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT FOR THEM. I ALSO HOPE THAT SOMEONE STEPS IN BEFORE THEIR LIVES ARE ENDANGERED. HINDSIGHT IS A BEAUTIFUL THING.

As long as they have the choice to leave if they want and are choosing to stay, I say leave them alone.

I agree. Let them stay until their lives are threatened. Animals are wonderous creatures who usually know when it's time to leave but sometimes humans need to intervene to save life.

Maybe it's a form of evolution for the dolphins.

Hopefully the "experts" are correct, and the dolphins will survive the winter.

I've seen a little about these dolphins on the news. No explanation has been given for why they are in this river. I just hope these beautiful animals make it. It is sad that some have already died. I agree with not messing with them if it isn't necessary, but I hope they are monitoring closely so that something can be done in time if needed.

I'm sad for them and hope that they are okay and survive. However as the article states, they are wild and it is the way of life for wild animals. Dolpins are noticed in these situations more so because they are not often seen in these situations. I'm sure this is the way of life for all wild animals that live in the forest, mountains, rivers, seas, oceans and such. Cold, heat, all sorts of situations are endured by all wild animals daily, but because we don't see it happen, we don't think about it. And frankly, I don't want to know because it is so sad.

It is interesting to watch the changes in animals migratory patterns as the weather has been changing and the environment has become altered.

animals have amazing instincts and survival skills. I'm sure they will be fine, because they were there during the temperature change; it wasn't a sudden drop like what happened in Texas.

Sometimes it's best to let nature take it's course. There's some reason these dolphins choose to stay. Perhaps they will be the seeds of evolution for a cold water bottlenose dolphin.

Okay, I am no brain when it comes to sea creatures. That being said, wouldn't it be smarter, in view of the previous disasterous cases, to get these animals to safer water temps now rater than when they are in trouble? This watch and see is sort of like saying, "Gee. we will help, but they have to be near death first."

it is often safer to let them stay and monitor them then try to catch them and transport them somewhere else. Stress from moving/catching them would be more dangerous than the temperatures in most cases.

I'm a believer in letting nature take its course and not interferring. Yet, I am glad the scientists are monitoring their path in case we need to intervene.

Dolphins are such intelligent creatures that I almost have no doubt they'll survive. If the river looks like it'll freeze over, I imagine they'll do something similar to otters and swim in circles to keep the ice at bay. That and the constantly running waters of the river should do the trick. Only thing I'm afraid of is the food supply running out, can only imagine what all the fish thought when the dolphins moved in!

I'm from a landlocked state, but I'll weigh in anyway: It seems leaving the dolphins alone for now is prudent. They're being monitored, which is reassuring.

This is a hard situation. We like to believe that nature takes its course and they are there for a purpose but I understand for animal lovers that it can be difficult to sit back and watch knowing the outcome could be fatal. Whatever the outcome is no one will be happy.

I think that sometimes we are too quick to interefere. I don't want to see anything happen to them, but they made the choice to be there for some reason. Maybe they should be left alone until they are in imminent danger.
